2027 Italy Trip

Trip to Ski the Dolomites, Alba-Canazei, Italy February 12 – 21, 2027
Optional Milan extension Add-On February 21 - 24, 2027

Trip Package Includes:

  • Round trip flight between Cincinnati (CVG) and Milan (MXP) on American Airlines
  • Ground transportation from Milan airport to hotel in Alba (approx. 4 hours) and to IH Milano Centrale Hotel
  • 7 nights lodging at Alpstyle Hotel Albolina with daily breakfast and dinner
  • Welcome Reception                                               
  • 1 night lodging 2/20 at IH Milano Centrale Hotel with breakfast 2/21
  • All base Air taxes and fuel surcharges are included but subject to change. Hotel and ground transportation charges included are based on an exchange rate range, but subject to change.

 

 Trip Cost:

  • $3377 (check) or $3478.31 (credit card) for the first 14 members. The airfare portion increases by $43 thereafter up to 20 members. Possible additional spots with potential airfare price increase, may be requested based on availability.
  • Single supplement, add $536 (check) or $552.08 (credit card)

 

Milan Extension Feb 21-24, 2027 Includes:

  • 3 nights lodging with daily breakfast at the 4-star IH Milano Centrale Hotel, 2-minute walk to the train station.
  • Cost: $564 double occupancy (check price), single supplement add $423 (check price)

 Membership:  In addition to the trip application below, all trip members must complete a Club Membership Application, and pay the current club membership fee of $40.00 (or be a member of another OVSC club).

Travel Insurance: is highly recommended for all and purchase as soon as initial payment is made.  For skiers: Italy has 2 new laws:  skiers must wear a helmet; must purchase ski insurance that provides third party liability that is mandatory.  A policy can be purchased online in advance for approximately 3.5 euros per day. 

 

Features and Information:

  • Alpstyle Hotel Albolina, family owned & run hospitality with alpine charm throughout. Located 8-minute walk to ski lift.   A shuttle bus stop is nearby for easy access into Canazei village.   Hotel Wellness Center has a Finnish sauna, indoor pool, Jacuzzi whirlpool hot tub, Turkish steam bath, and solarium. Massage and beauty treatments are available.   https://albolina.it 
  • Optional group or individual day trip excursions to be offered or suggested in the Alba area at additional cost TBD.  A travel host from SportsAmerica will be in Alba to assist with information and scheduling activities. 
  • Canazei is a municipality with 2,000 inhabitants in the upper Val di Fassa. includes the hamlets of Alba, Gries and Penia. The local inhabitants speak dolomitic Ladin. It’s the most famous winter sport area in the Val di Fassa.  It is the starting point of the world-famous Sellaronda circuit, the 25-mile-long panoramic route extends around the Sella Group with unforgettable scenery.  The Alba-Ciampac ski area is easily accessible by cable car from Alba di Canazei and features ski slopes for skiers of all levels, including challenging descents for advanced skiers and easier slopes for beginners and children and a timed slope. The ski area is also complete with a ski and snowboard school, an itinerary for snowshoe hikes. Alba di Canazei boasts an ice rink and a ski and snowboard rental. 
  • The elevation in Canazei is 4800 ft.  The highest point on the Sellaronda ski circuit in the Dolomites is Piz Boè, which reaches 10,338 ft or 3152 m above sea level.  

Milan: Sight-seeing in the area is “explore at leisure on your own”.  Idea for seeing main attractions in 1, 2, or 3 days is the Gray Line Hop on/Hop off Bus Tour. Convenient stop is at the  train station.  www.grayline.com/tours/milan-tour-on-touristic-open-bus-24-hours-ticket/  Venice is a direct destination on a high-speed train that is under 3 hours depending on choice of departure time.  Transportation to Milan MXP Airport on Feb 21 or 24 will be the option of the train or a bus based on the number of participants (add-on cost).
